Did you know that Pakistan is the 3rd largest tea importer and 7th largest tea consuming country in the world? Even if you are unaware of the facts, it is extremely relatable because ‘chai’ is the most “Pakistani thing”. People here start and end their day with a cup of tea. Some prefer coffee too, but what is it that can beat our desi chai.
There are many different types of our desi chai. Let’s look at these types from all parts of Pakistan.
Doodh Patti
This milk based tea is the most popular tea in the country. It is prepared in milk instead of water and is very sweet. No wonder people are so addicted to it.
Masala Chai
This is literally a tea that is cooked with different spices added in it. These include cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds and more.
Kashmiri Chai
Mainly known as ‘Noon Chai’, this tea type belongs to Kashmir and is made from green tea leaves and milk. It is mixed and topped with nuts including almonds, pistachios and cashew nuts.
Kehwa
